Review of Bigger Than Life (1956) by Joe L — 24 Sep 2010
It's sad how a family can be torn apart by something as simple as psychosis inducing drugs. nobody self-destructs better than james mason, who's gone off the deep end in 'lolita,' and 'a star is born.
' here we see his gradual change from a stand-up schoolteacher into a manic, emotional, murderous wreck. it's almost laughable if not for the commitment mason brings to the role, and the distinct picture perfect visual style brought to 1950's domestic life.
