Review of Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008) by Andrew K — 25 Mar 2011
A movie about a lot more than just steroids. It's really more about the insane measures our American culture tells us go to to achieve something. People have always been taught that if they cheat they'll ultimately lose and be unhappy. This movie asks for a real definition of cheating and whether or not this is really true.
The truth is that better isn't always possible and that there's a natural limit to everything you try to achieve. Being aware of these limits and setting realistic goals will help you reach them much more easily because your strategies for reaching those goals will also be realistic. I believe that we really can achieve anything we want as long as we make realistic goals, have reasonable strategies that analyze all possible effects, and play by the rules.
Arnold is really caught up in a dilemma. He appeases musclemen on steroids and speaks out against them regularly. In truth he's just trying to make both sides happy so they'll support him.
Information seems pretty accurate and relatively unbiased. Great movie.
