Review of Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008) by Anonymous User — 18 Dec 2008
The recent passing of Mad Dog Mike Bell provides a very chilling coda to an already tragic documentary. It's a very incisive film on the role of not only steroids, but artificial means of performance enhancement in general in America, what and who are influencing the way we live, and how cheating is simply just human nature.
It's a more complex issue than it seems and it explores it in a much more in-depth manner than just painting things in black and white. You get to see the plight of wannabe Ahhhnolds juicing up, sports athletes in court, medical professionals weighing in on both sides of the issue, and people who are positively affected by steroid use.
It's fascinating and endlessly informative, and easily one of the most important movies you will see all year.
