Review of Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008) by David S — 28 Mar 2009
This film isn't just about steriod use in professional sports. It's really about the need to be the best, or rather, when simply being the best isn't good enough.
It also touches on how American pop culture (via movies, advertising, proffessional sports) has conspired to make an entire generation of young boys feel as though they need to be muscle bound supermen in order to succeed.
This is one of the recent wave of documentaries that are meant to be entertaining as well as informative. Though it seems a bit biases at times, it does manage to educate one on the actual dangers (and benefits) of steroid use.
