Review of Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008) by Dickie L — 14 Jun 2009
Very much in the Michael Moore vein of expose with a humble, jocular tone, Christopher Bell sets out to show us the unjust demonisation of steroids by society (and the sports industry in particular). Like Moore's work, at first this seems extremely well researched, although after a while you wonder just how biased his research is.
There's a lot of interesting info here and the archaic vintage ads and film footage add comic relief. The film lacks structure though and instead of culminating to a strong conclusion it becomes a tad repetitive.
