Review of Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008) by Mike C — 12 Nov 2009
I passed on this many times, and that is my failure. It's a disturbing film because it effectively blurs the line with what should be allowed or outlawed in sports/competition. The docu often takes the unpopular stance of sticking up for steroid use, but offers plenty of solid reasons why.
I don't think it adequately covers the whole American theme, though I think that is a legit line of thought. Most troubling, the film shows the human side of steroid use. In this case, the brothers are not bad people.
The father predicts the one son will die, and sadly, shortly after this film was made, that prophecy came true.
