Review of Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008) by Nathan N — 12 Mar 2010
More entertaining than most docs you're likely to see, Bigger, Stronger, Faster does many things well. It's deeply personal while also being broad, effectivley moves back and forth between comedy and tragedy and it's extremely stylish.
However, it's an important film not simply because of these things but because it dares to go against the grain and question whether or not steroids are the menace they are made out to be. This is being done by next to nobody.
I'm certainly no scientist and have no idea of how hormones and supplements affect the body and by no means am I an advocate for steroids but I have to respect the grit it takes to put out such as controversial message.
Whether you're a juicer or a high school health teacher, you have to respect Bigger, Stronger, Faster, a film that's balls seem not to have shrunk.
