Review of Big Trouble in Little China (1986) by Scott W — 27 Jul 2013
What would old Jack Burton do at a time like this?
Watch this movie over and over again! At a time when John Carpenter or Kurt Russell excelled in everything they touched and blew it out of the water when they worked together (Escape From New York & The Thing). They add a third successful movie for all ages. When Jack Burton (channeling the swagger of John Wayne) and his old buddy Wang Chi get mixed up with Lo Pan & his 3 storms all hell breaks loose...and Chinese have a lotta hells.
The quick & witty banter rolls off their tongues effortlessly throughout the film. Once again Carpenter hits the mark with his brooding synth bass/keyboard for the film.
This is a movie that gets better and better for each rewatch.
10/10.
