Tender, heartwarming feel-good movie with great acting and an authentic look at small-town mountain life in the 70's. Patrick Wilson is a real heart-throb and he and Ashley Judd succeed in making their chemistry look real.
Loved the costumes, the music and the choice of actors/actresses. Truly a MUST See! I was fortunate to attend a screening of Big Stone Gap in Franklin, TN with Ashley Judd as our host. Her 10th generation family history in Eastern Kentucky was definitely vivid in her portrayal as Ave Maria Mulligan.
