Review of Big Nothing (2006) by Jack H — 07 Jan 2008
Definitely not one for the faint-hearted, this very, very dark comedy thriller focuses on a plot by three Oregon losers (David Schwimmer, Simon Pegg and Alice Eve) to blackmail a preacher over his taste for internet porn.
However, everything goes wrong as the body count rises and people end up being shot, drowned and, in one disturbingly funny scene, have their skull spit by an axe. The deft mix of laughs and shocks are fantastic, while the plot has more twists than a tabby cats tail.
Be warned though, this gory film does have a couple of genuinely distressing scenes; such as the discovery of a snuff porn film and the lollipop murder.
