Review of Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son (2011) by Steve M — 25 Jun 2012
Lawrence is great but Brandon T. Jackson is a fine compliment as Charmaine. In an effort reminiscent of Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis decades ago, Lawrence and Jackson are praiseworthy in a film I initially had no interest in watching.
Don't expect spectacular cinematography or splendid graphics and special effects. It's cute humor that is for the most part innocent. You'll find yourself pulling for the two as they go undercover as females at an all-girls school for the arts in an effort to solve a crime.
They encounter criminals and maybe even a little love. Both get in the way of their disguise but you'll have to see for yourself why this unsuspecting title is worth of an avid film goers time. This one is.
