Review of Big Miracle (2012) by Tim K — 28 Jun 2012

I don't care about whales and, I was not really interested to see this movie. But I heard that John Krasinski from The Office was going to be in it... So I wanted to see what Jim Halpert was up to. So as far as my knowledge of The Office is (seeing all the episodes through season's 1-7) he was likable in this movie.

So not caring about whales, I guess I was not that inspired by this movie, but there are definitely heartwarming moments for sure. The main good things about this movie were that, it has good acting, decent storytelling, and, best of all, a well written script written by: Jack Amiel and Michael Begler because, there knowledge of whales and this true story, really shines through in this movie.

But there are problems with this movie, now, I like Drew Barrymore and I think she's a good actress but, she was not likable in this movie and she was mostly, annoying and, sometimes stupid. However, regardless on how annoying she was, her passion for whales was belivable. Also there are some pacing issues and the movie dragged sometimes. Also they overused CGI when the whales were underwater, so they looked fake. This movie was also predicable too.

Overall Big Miracle is not bad or great, it just a good mediocre movie to watch once.
