Review of Big Miracle (2012) by Jeff R — 28 Dec 2012

It's a solid little film with it's heart in the right place. They stuck pretty close to the true events, and everyone came out of the theater with smiles. I especially enjoyed seeing the side-by-side comparisons to the actual footage of the event during the credits. There's plenty of appeal for all ages, which I can safely say based on the response from families sitting behind me. At one point my wife and I were touched by the reaction of a little girl nearby who was really attached to those whales. So, there ya go.

As negatives go, there aren't too many to speak of. There were a couple of fx shots where I thought the animation needed work, but that's just nitpicking. It's certainly no masterpiece, but it's a delightful story with something for everyone.
