Review of Big Hero 6 (2014) by Tor M — 21 May 2015
I don't see many animated films. When I do they are often chamful and it's easy to see why kids dig 'em.This one is alike most of them. We get some sort of hero here, some moral, some fun and some "sad" business.
It starts of good. I like the story, some of the grown up-kicks and the way it looks and builds up. Then it turns into a bit of a mess after 50 minutes or so. It's not as stressful as "The LEGO Movie", but it got loads of speed. The pace is extreme, so if you miss out of two minutes, the entire plot might have taken a different turn.
OK film, that looks great and brings something to the table. It surfs on a very typical strategy and I'm sure kids like it a whole lot. In the end, it's too bad it's not very "adult friendly".
