Review of Big Hero 6 (2014) by Jason E — 13 Oct 2015
Showing strings of ET, Lion King, and Wall-E, Disney's Big Hero 6 manages to be a hybrid that feels fresh. Clever use of the robot as caretaker teaches lessons as we follow a young programming prodigy along an investigation into an unfortunate accident involving his mentor and older brother.
If all this sounds too intense for your kid, fear not, BH6 handles the mystery with wit and ingenious details that unexpectedly win you over. Having fun with the teen hero genre never felt this awkwardly inspired.
Expect to love a new marshmallow Robot.
