Review of Big Hero 6 (2014) by Steve S — 02 May 2016
You already know going in to expect a high amount of quality, which the film indeed delivers. I loved the mix of Japanese architecture into the San Francisco landscape (I presume that is from the comic, and that there is a canonical reason for how that came to be.
). The film doesn't waste time trying to explain the world. Everything is already established, which is good. The voice cast, unsurprisingly, knocks it out of the park, especially Scott Adsit voicing Baymax.
Something that didn't add up for me was why the villain was attacking the kids. His beef isn't with them; Considering his motivations, it seems like trying to destroy the kids is horribly counterintuitive.
Eh, I guess you gotta have conflict somehow, but, overall, I still liked the movie.
