Review of Big Hero 6 (2014) by Connor M — 29 May 2017
Disney is in the middle of its recent renaissance of films, and this film is one of the reasons why. I heard nothing but praise for this animated superhero flick from Disney, and I couldn't wait to finally get my hands on it.
When I was finished with it, I was pretty surprised of how dark it was for a Disney film. There are many deaths that I wasn't necessarily expecting, but it still surprised me. Other than that there are many bright qualities about the film.
Baymax is undeniably loveable, and I loved every second of screen time of him. I thought the whole origin and the world within the story was impressive. The villain was intriguing, and the characters were likeable, so there are many likeable qualities to it.
The score was also fantastic. I thought the pacing was a little off sometimes, and also the darkness at some points of the film. Nevertheless this a very likeable film that fits nicely in the Disney catalog.
