Review of Big Hero 6 (2014) by Johnathon W — 07 Feb 2018
Entertaining Disney flick, that while not quite a classic, makes a solid merger of the Disney/Marvel brand. Using the colorful world of "Big Hero 6" is a perfect fit for a Disney film, and there are some nice Marvel touches (stay for after the credits for an epic cameo).
However, the villain is never developed fully (though very menacing & cool looking) and the film doesn't quite play with the comic tropes enough (unlike "The Incredibles" which remains not only one of the best Disney films but one of the best superhero movies ever).
Nevertheless, it is beautifully animated with great action, and the relationship between Hiro & Baymax (wonderfully voiced by Scott Adsit) is touching. Not quite a great film but definitely a great time.
