Review of Big Hero 6 (2014) by Jon S — 13 Jul 2015
Disney Animation continues their recent hot streak with Big Hero 6, a story about a brilliant tween who decides to use his brain for the good of the world by being inspired with SCIENCE!
The film is definitely aimed at children, with its messages of responsibility, ingenuity, and kindness. There are, however, a lot of great one-liners for adults, as well as some cool supporting characters that are far from one-dimensional. The interaction between Hiro and Baymax is done very touchingly, giving the film a lot of emotional weight.
The ending does feel like a bit of a cop-out, but the film as a whole does its job admirably.
