Review of Big Game (2014) by Tim R — 02 Oct 2015
This is a strange beast. It's terrible, don't get me wrong, but its fun to watch, and for a fairly low budget movie from Finland (but large for their industry), it's very ambitious, with big special effects that exceed the budgets expectation.
The writing is terrible. The dialogue is laughable, and the plot makes very little sense. The actors ham it up terribly, especially the villains. Some great actors like Ted Levine seem off their game, whilst others, mainly Samuel L. Jackson, have the ability to coast through it all and come off looking good.
Every time you think the movie has lost it, it pulls you back in with something awesome. For a $4 rental, it was completely worth the money.
