Review of Big Game (2014) by Magnus S — 27 May 2015
The "Big Game" gains popularity grace to the beautiful, exotic, rare to hear Finnish language most of all! Of course the professionalism of Samuel Jackson is impeccable, while he levels with the 12 years old Finnish actor, Onni Tommila, who also combines the innocence of his age with the "strangeness" of Finnish language, the "toughness" of Finnish nature and Finnish manhood.
If the role had been played by an American kid, the result would not have been the same. The "Finnish-hood" adds to the story, the "mystic" scent of the film. In other words, a great symbiosis USA and Finland: actors, languages, scenery.
..A film which one could really watch several times and smile, especially if one knows and loves Finnish language, Finland, Finnish men and their traditions.
