Review of Big Game (2014) by Ian G — 05 Aug 2015
A cute, low budget Midnight Madness entry at the 2014 Toronto Fest, director Jalmari Helander riffs off of a couple of icons here with the president being hunted in this case by one of his former agents and a eurotrash big game hunter, and his best hope for survival is a Rambowesque kid who is pursuing his right of passage in the forest where the president is seeking refuge.
A couple of alright moments, chuckles and pretty decent cast assembled from Jackson, Brodbent, Huffman and Garber, if anything acts as a good escape and a late summer alternate to the big budget behemoths filling the multiplexes for the majority of the summer.
