Review of Big Fish (2003) by Gavin M — 22 May 2013
I believe this to be one of Tim Burton's finest movies. It's a delightful and fun story that's deep fried in Burton's trademark visuals and quirks. Unlike some of his later period work, Big Fish is never overstated, and is filled with subtle charm mixed with a sweet surreal atmosphere.
Excellent performances from ensemble cast, a good script, and Danny Elfman at his musical best. This is an enjoyable, touching, colorful and quirky movie that's definitely worth watching.
