Review of Big Fish (2003) by Jorel D — 26 Jun 2013
I was referred to this film by a friend, and while the synopsis gave me a hard time to actually pop it in and watch it, I finally decided to give it a chance. And I must say that the first scenes and dialog was enough to get me hooked! Though later it becomes difficult to connect everything, which made it harder to actually want to finish it.
You will be like: What is going on?! What is the point?! But I stayed through it and it is well worth the time and effort to understand it. This is why I gave it 4 stars...it starts out good enough to get you hooked, but later it can lag the connection point.
Father Edward Bloom is on his death bed and has not talked to his son for a number of years. His son comes to him and they talk...and his son discovers the truth about his dying father. Great movie with a very bold message delivered in the end about father and son.
Big Fish is well worth watching.
