Review of Big Eyes (2014) by Luke E — 13 May 2015
Call this Tim Burton's first 'real world' film once in a while, because it takes place in a real time period and doesn't rely on genre restrictions or fantastical elements. Its a highly interesting film about 'art' about a great artist whose husband; may be more of a crook than he is a celebrity taking credit for what someone else had done.
Its really a smaller scale film from a director; who shows his craft at his best, well performed, composed, written and thought out piece eagerly admirable among Burton's best. Highly recommended for something really different compromising and thoughtful as social commentary.
