Review of Big Eyes (2014) by Richard S — 09 Oct 2015
I've been disappointed with Tim Burton's films recently, with the low point being the so bad it made my skin hurt - Dark Shadows. However, this one isn't too bad and is a slight departure from Tim Burton's usual territory of the weird and wonderful as this is based upon a true story of a manipulative husband who commits epic art fraud by passing off his wife's paintings as his own.
In fact, if it wasn't for one creepy scene where the artist begins to see the big eyes in the people around her at the supermarket, I wouldn't have recognised this as Tim Burton's work.
