Review of Big Business (1988) by Agatha T — 28 May 2017
One of those rare 80s comedies that has held up well and, while it may have aged as far as sets and costumes go, the comedy itself never gets old. Tomlin and Midler are hilarious both together and as themselves in dual (and completely opposite) roles, and the closer they get to all four characters finally being in the same room together, the funner it gets.
Side note, the relationship Midler's abused and exhausted assistants had flew as high over my head as it did Roone's on first watch, since I was, when this first came out, a very sheltered child (and it was the 80s - no internet!) It wasn't until years later when I found it and watched it again that I caught and was able to enjoy that fun and sweet little side story.
