REVIEW: I don't know why there has been so much buzz around.

This generic werewolf movie. It's DTV, it's unoriginal.

And it's simply nothing out of the ordinary. I guess.

That the people behind this film just know how to.

Market themselves. Either way, heading into Big Bad.

Wolf I was expecting something special - I mean,.

Why wouldn't I? Considering all the news items that.

Have been posted all around the net about this movie's.

Progress. Unfortunately, Big Bad Wolf turned out to be.

A rather mediocre horror flick with a clichéd plot.

That feels occasionally poorly written.

The movie starts out with a bunch of hunters getting.

Killed by the beast (something we could expect to see.

On the Sci-Fi channel). Then it skips to seven years.

Later when one of these hunters son is all grown up.

And ready to join a fraternity. He brings his friends.

Out to a cabin in the middle of nowhere which belongs.

To his mean stepfather for a weekend of partying, but.

The party is soon interrupted when a werewolf crashes it.

Up until this point, the movie was quite poor, and.

What made it even worse was when the werewolf started.

Delivering silly one-liners.

Luckily, the friends are quickly killed off and the.

Real movie can begin (after twenty minutes or so - was.

This opening just made to fodder out the movie?). Sam.

And Derek are the soul survivors of the massacre and.

Are certain that Derek's stepfather is the werewolf.

So they decide to investigate further into the matter.

This is more interesting than the first twenty minutes.

(thank god), but it's still not more than an average.

DTV horror flick at best - so again, I don't get what.

All the hype was about.

Technically the movie looks good for a DTV movie, but.

I couldn't help but to feel that this might as well.

Have been produced by The Asylum. Perhaps because it.

Has a lot in common with "The Beast of Bray Road",.

Or perhaps because they were shot with as little.

Imagination. The acting is sub-par with few likable.

Characters to be found. Derek is way too wimpy to be.

The hero and Sam is way too bitchy to be the heroine.

I feel as though I have to point out that the movie.

Did have some strong sides as well, gore and nudity.

Being one of them. The movie also has a solid pace.

And it's not boring for a second. But overall, I have.

To say that this was a fairly mediocre werewolf movie.

That brought nothing new to the table. I do think that.

They tried to make something great but ended up falling.

Flat - and that's unfortunate. If it's on cable, you.

Might want to give it a shot, but only rent it if you're.

A hardcore werewolf fan.

BOTTOM LINE: Big Bad Wolf is more or less the definition of average.

For me. It's not great, but it keeps you watching until.

The mediocre ending. No big surprises or interesting.

Plot twists either. Predictable as hell. What else.

Can I say? Only for hardcore werewolf fans.
