Review of Big (1988) by Greg K — 10 Mar 2011

Now this is a film that really looks hard at being a kid and an adult and successfully blends the two. Lot of films have been inspired by this one, and Hanks shows just as far he can go into a character.

There's a lot of pre-Forrest Gump in Hanks' performance. The film, while with some flaws, is quirky and innocent and fun, and yet profoundly serious in its attempt to reconcile our childhood and our adulthood, which for most of us, get divided and never hear from each other.

A solid film and every time I watch it, it only reawakens the kid inside.
