Review of Big (1988) by Rocknblues 8 — 05 Jan 2010
Tom Hanks really breakout role is a light hearted comedy that has stood the rest of time. This is a message movie more than people probably realize. Kids nowadays want to grow up so quick that they end up missing out on how good it is to be young and free without the daily burden's of the complicated adult life. In the biggest scene of the film where Josh and "Mac" MacMillan play on the big piano it's clear that Mac misses being a kid.
The older I get, the more important this film feels to me. It might be hip to hate this movie now, but I loved it as a kid and I love it now.
