Review of Bicentennial Man (1999) by Joseph Y — 20 Jul 2009
Dumbed down and overly sentimental treacle about a subservient robot who yearns to be human. Horribly mangled distillation of what is, at its core, a quintessential science fiction concept with a lot of promise.
Wants to be a screwball comedy, an epic love tale, and a rumination on technology and humanity, but falls flat in every category.
