Review of Bicentennial Man (1999) by Kevin M. W — 06 Nov 2013
Top dollar went into this sci-fi rendition of an Asimov/Silverberg update/spin of a familiar old childrens tale of a robot that only wants a brain, a heart, the nerve, to be human. Williams' presence adds some borscht belt hamming at times, and the director, Chris Columbus, cannot help but to go for the emotionally overwrought sometimes, but for family viewing .
.. ahhh, why be so picky alla time? It's okay. Obvious, but okay. Hallie Kate Eisenberg is the real secret weapon here though, the hook that makes the story take.
