Review of Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970) by Abigail G — 17 Apr 2007
This is one of my all time favorite movies, definitely in the top 3 of all time. It is campy and fun. I am a huge Russ Meyer fan and I think this one stands in a category of its own out of all his work.
I especially love the writing by Roger Ebert. The character development is right on, and there are a lot of characters to juggle. But the editing and cinematography are noteworthy as well. All of the elements that Meyer fans enjoy are here in their splendid glory.
Favorite scene: When Kelly arrives at Z-man's party and he gives her the tour. "This is my happening and it freaks me out!".
