Review of Beyond the Sea (2004) by Lauren A — 19 Oct 2007
While Kevin Spacey acts, sings, and dances his ass off, the film is too convoluted and many of the musical numbers seem out of place. Its enjoyable the first time, but afterwards it leaves you with a bad impression.
Too many plot elements are haphazard, and its hard to tell just how we are supposed to be seeing whats going on. Honestly, to get the best experience you can from this film, just listen to the soundtrack album, since Spacey is actually pretty damn good at singing Darin's songs.
