Review of Beyond the Sea (2004) by John N — 28 Oct 2008
Blah vanity project from Mr. Spacey, who apparently didn't notice that he was far too old to play Bobby Darin. He and Kate Bosworth look more like a father and daughter than a young couple in love.
I suspect that this movie was borne out of Spacey's jealousy that his "The Ref" costar (Judy Davis) was given the chance to play Judy Garland. And if Spacey's talk show appearances in support of the film are any indication, this project was his personal "Chris Gaines.
