Review of Beyond the Sea (2004) by Cita W — 31 Aug 2009
This is a pretty entertaining look on the life of Bobby Darin. The sections where the movie flirts with the 4th wall aren't all that necessary. But thankfully there are only a handful of those scenes.
The rest of the movie is quite good. Sure there are some cheesy musical bits every now and then, but for the most part I found those entertaining enough. The directing seemed a bit, "heavy" for lack of a better word, in some places.
For instance the camera would stay focused on a characters expression for an uncomfortably long time in some scenes.
