Review of Beyond the Lights (2014) by Michael Q — 11 Feb 2015
I saw this one as part of my oscar viewing string as it was a best song nominee... the film itself is better than I had expected... telling a typical story of an overbearing stage mom and the singer who doesnt want to be the video vixen they've made her into and how she falls in love with a normal guy who changes her.
... but the actors are compelling and the story is different enough that it works this time.
