Much more nuanced than I expected; particularly in the character of Pretre, the head of the monastery who injects occasional very secular dismissals of the nun's superstitions. Nevertheless, things go badly as various people and institutions try to help, control, avoid, or bundle off the troubled and troubling girl Alina.
