Review of Beyond Borders (2003) by Tawny F — 20 Jul 2008
To call this a love story does not begin to do it justice. Yes, there is a fantastic love story, but the way humanity is portrayed will tear your heart out. This movie makes you feel small and useless and clueless about the real world that we only see on the other side of the tv. You have to be dead inside for this one not to move you.
I especially loved the beginning where Sarah sees the starving child before the vulture just waiting for him to die, but unlike the photographer who snapped the picture for Time magazine, she leaped from the truck and saved him.
What a great fucking movie! I put this one up there with Hotel Rwanda, we are all so very lucky. Amen!
Sidenote: Does Clive Owen ever make a bad movie? I don't think so.
