Review of Bewitched (1981) by Orlando D — 16 May 2012
What a serious waste! This had the potential of being a wonderful comedy based on the beloved 60's sitcom, but the filmmakers never know what they wanted to achieved. Nicole Kidman is perfectly cast as a naive witch who meets an egomanic actor(An over the top and over annoying Will Ferrell, the movie's biggest problem.
)as a TV network wants to remake Bewitched as cast her in the Samantha role but Ferrell's character wants to be the lead. The supporting leads is wasted(missed opportunities with Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine.
) The script is a mess, the jokes never work. One of the decade's biggest disapointments.
