Review of Beverly Hills Cop III (1994) by Jacob B — 24 Dec 2010
The worst of the franchise, but admittedly it does pick up during the 2nd half after a amusingly bad first, like horrible. Murphy has another friend shot by someone who happens to be from California (strange how that all works out) and goes to CA, reminds us all that he made Beverly Hills cop by rehashing old acquantances and sequences (I like how Foley recognizes Serge, and Serge reminds him how they met, Foley shot the bad guy who owned the place, remember? Serge also said he managed the place, which is of course, wrong, no mention is made of the female character who actually did manage it).
Anyways, Taggart is also not around, so we have Hector Alzondo, a pretty amusing substitute (amusing as in, um yeah) There are some great sequences, like the amusement ride rescue, and some not so great moments (the aforementioned first half) that probably won't make this required viewing on anyone's part.
