Pretty awful. I thought between this and Footloose I would have enjoyed this more. But did Eddie Murphy really think that his laugh was good enough to do a thousand times? It's funny at first, but it gets old.

I loved, again, the cheesy 80s bit about the film. They play the same music over and over again. The bad guys can't aim worth anything but the good guys get them in one shot. I just found myself not laughing at the parts where Eddie Murphy was actually trying to be funny.

I don't really know what else to say here. Perhaps I would have liked it more if I didn't know what funny detective movies could be like, ie Lethal Weapon, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, etc.
