Fun and entertaining, Beverly Hills Cop is a classic '80s action/comedy. When his friend is murdered, Detroit police detective Axel Foley heads off to Beverly Hills to find those responsible. It's a pretty formulaic plot that's full of stereotypes, but the comedy stylings of Eddie Murphy go a long way towards elevating the material.

And, it's Murphy's charm and charisma that carries the film and gives it personality. Though it's a typical cop film for the most part, Beverly Hills Cop delivers a lot of solid action and some great comedy.
