Review of Beverly Hills Cop (1984) by Adrian Z — 01 Dec 2013
Several elements buoy what is essentially a simplistic B-grade actioner at heart: Eddie Murphy's comic genius, here seen in peak form; Daniel Petrie's sharp, albeit expletive laden writing; and how almost every supporting and secondary character in the film, nor matter how small, is funny and memorable.
Harold Feltermeyer's score and the songs used in the soundtrack are great too.
