It's an enjoyable slice of the 80s from a time when Eddie Murphy was still funny. The action bits are fun, Murphy's charming, and the plot is...well okay, the plots not the greatest. And to be honest there are better Murphy films out there.
Still, it's got a charm to it, and it's a pretty fun ride.
