Review of Beverly Hills Cop (1984) by Kia M — 10 Mar 2013
Slick and entertaining with not much in the way of originality, but provides a rollicking good time with Murphy at his prime spouting off lots of wise-cracking, street-smart remarks. Murphy plays a Detroit cop who is sent to Beverly Hills on a vacation so he won't get involved with the case involving the murder of his friend, which of course, is just what he plans to do.
Trendy 80's music, car chases, and gunfights abound in a formulaic but exciting climax that showcases Murphy's early talent in action comedies.
