I'm convinced that Savage Steve Holland knew how ridiculous the decade that was the 80's would turn out. Better Off Dead contains the same sort of ridiculous music and jokes as a lot of other comedies from the era but magnifies them to epic and hilarious proportions in a way that could only be mocking.
