Review of Better Off Dead... (1985) by Rob C — 13 Mar 2011
Following in suit on the early-eighties teen comedies, Better Off Dead is another unforgettable film starring John Cusack as a suicidal high school student named Lane Myer. The reason for his apparent suicidal intentions is his girlfriend dumping him for the captain of the high school ski team, Roy Stalin.
He goes through many attempts to kill himself, but he ends up not succeeding, all the while passing up this new French foreign-exchange student named Monique (Diane Franklin) who's moved in with this family across the street from him.
Better Off Dead has some zany animations involved with some dark intentions in the storyline. It all made up for a great eighties teen comedy in my nostalgia trip catalogue.
