Taking your typical asian-american overachieving stereotypes and twisting them inside out. a great indie surprise from justin lin who eventually goes on to make annapolis and toyko drift. the mtv style cuts and edits grate after a while, but this film is enjoyable in a 'there's nothing else quite like this' sort of way.
Which is quite telling about cultural attitudes in american filmmaking, really.
