Most of those guys aren't actually that nerdy at all; just a bunch of smart asian guys, bored of excelling at academics, applying their smarts at making money illegally and being cool. You can definitely see influences from Quentin Tarantino, Doug Liman (Swingers, Go) and John Woo, especially the editing.
Still, I wished that it would had taken the concept a bit further, even to outrageously unrealistic levels. Sometimes being realistic can be a little dull. I still liked it; it was almost good.
